94 Vinous -
The 2017 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict Vineyard is one of the standouts in this range. Nuanced, perfumed and beautifully layered, The 2017 shows why this site is so highly regarded. Bright red/purplish berry fruit, blood orange, cedar and sweet floral overtones build into the super-expressive finish. This is such a complete wine.
94 Jeb Dunnuck -
The 2017 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict Vineyard comes from the Sta. Rita Hills and spent 17 months in 29% new French oak. It offers a ruby/plum color as well as lots of macerated black cherries, orange blossom, spice, and an exotic, smoked applewood-like character. Rounded, medium to full-bodied, and beautifully balanced on the palate, it has remarkable purity of fruit, building tannins, integrated acidity, and a great finish. It's another smoking good effort from winemaker Blair Fox.
93 Wine Enthusiast -
Black cherry, star anise and light licorice spice show on the nose of this bottling from the region's most historic vineyard. It's rich on the palate with black cherry, cola and vanilla flavors.
