Paul Jaboulet Domaine de Saint Pierre Cornas 2018

Rhone Blends  |  France

JS94, VN93, JD93, WA92
SPECIAL: Ground shipping included on orders of 3 bottles or more!

As much as $110+ a bottle elsewhere, this is a market crushing buy of epic proportions! Buy 3 or more, and get it for $46.95 with free ground shipping. The perfect match to fall fare and no one will know you paid drastically less than the rest of the world.

A MUST for those who have an appreciation for the classic, intense heights of perfection that Syrah from this part of the world can achieve. This is a tiny production wine that rarely sees the light of day in the states. Collectors...you need this in the cellar! ONLY 15 6-PACKS to sell!

We still dream about our visit in 2019 to Jaboulet, and hiking up to the celebrated “La Chapelle” before descending into a MASSIVE tasting of the upcoming vintages. Hopefully we can get back there next year to taste all the new wines! In the meantime, 2018 is rockstar-level vintage for the region and Jaboulet in particular -- don’t miss!

This captures the essence of the 2018, a big, powerful wine with gobs of blue fruits and smoky meat, deep and intense. AMAZING price...while it lasts!

About the Producer

Originally founded by Antoine Jaboulet in 1834, the domaine eventually took ownership of the finest appellations of the northern Rhone Valley, including Hermitage and Crozes-Hermitage, as well as Saint-Joseph, Cornas and Saint-Peray. The Jaboulet family sold the company to the Frey family in 2006, and Caroline Frey is now at the helm and the wines could not be better.

94 James Suckling -
Such beautiful blueberry undertones to the blackberry and wet-earth aromas and flavors. Full-bodied with round, firm tannins that make this wine serious and polished at the same time. Very deep and focused with a very long, flavorful finish. Such balance and depth already. Very drinkable now, but better after 2022.
93 Vinous -
Opaque ruby. Smoke-accented black raspberry, cherry and violet qualities on the nose, along with a spicy nuance that builds in the glass. Shows very good depth as well as vivacity in the mouth, offering sweet dark berry, cherry and candied violet flavors that spread out steadily on the back half. Closes energetic and long, with repeating spice and floral qualities and gentle tannic grip. This high-altitude, windy and cool site has been performing impressively in the recent hot vintages.
93 Jeb Dunnuck -
Lots of red and black raspberry fruits, sandalwood, peppery herb, and flowery incense notes emerge from the 2018 Cornas Domaine De Saint-Pierre, a spicy, medium to full-bodied, textured Cornas. With ripe, mouthcoating tannins, wonderful balance, and a great finish, it's a terrific, already complex 2018 to enjoy over the coming 10-15 years
92 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
Peppery, meaty and blueberry aromas emerge on the nose of the 2018 Cornas Domaine de Saint Pierre. Never one of the house's biggest or burliest bottlings, it's medium to full-bodied, with a silky feel on the palate and ample length on the finish. The vineyard is on a gentle slope near the very top of the appellation.
