Ca' Erto Soave Classico 2024

Garganega  |  Italy

Ground shipping included on orders of 6 bottles or more!

If you love crisp, dry whites like Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris, this clean Italian dream is for you!

We’re bringing you some glorious Soave Classico from Ca’Erto’s multi-generational estate in northeastern Italy, a few kilometers from Verona. It’s key that they’re farming organically (though not certified) in the rolling hills overlooking the valley, rather than working the flatlands that are more known for mass-production juice. This beauty is 90% Garganega, 10% Trebbiano di Soave – and Garganega is a late-ripening grape, so those slopes allow for extra hang time and drainage, hence more concentrated flavors.

But we’re not looking for extreme aromatic complexity here, we’re looking for textural satisfaction and uplifting vibes! Italians drink this like water, as the twist cap indicates It’s simultaneously zippy and waxy-round, with wonderfully quenching acid that’s sustained from the moment it glides onto your tongue all the way through to the finish. As Will Farrell said in Old School: “Fill it up again! God, that’s good. Once it hits your lips, it’s so good.” Tropical notes of starfruit and ripe kiwi float alongside lemon verbena, apricot, and macadamia nut. It’s as bright as sunshine and sleek as an icicle, with a salinity that makes it a gorgeous match for a cast iron pan full of prawns.

For three generations, the Magnabosco family has passed down the art of winemaking. When everyone else was mechanically farming rather dull table wines in the flatlands, Gino Magnabosco took to the hillsides, farming by hand. The Magnaboscos started a trend in the region, and they’re still leading it. This 2024 is as fantastic as ever, but furious spring rains meant there is less available than we’d like, so at this price, snap it up while we have it!

About the Producer

Ca' Erto is a multi-generational family estate in the Soave hills of Veneto, where winemaker Gino Magnabosco and his family represent the third generation to tend the ancestral land, guided by a philosophy of hard work, respect for tradition, and a deep commitment to their terroir. Set against the backdrop of the Dolomites, the estate's hillside vineyards are farmed using organic practices and minimal-intervention winemaking, though without formal certification. The resulting wines are a compelling expression of Soave Classico's volcanic and limestone soils: crisp, mineral, and refreshingly genuine. (By the way, you may know them as Monte Tondo – same estate, different name for the US market.)
