Andeluna Cellars Red Blend Pasionado Cuatro Cepas Mendoza 2010
Bordeaux Blends | Argentina
This is the 2010 Pasionado Cuatro Cepas Red Blend, forged at 4,300 feet elevation in the foothills of the Andes at the spectacular Andeluna Cellars – which is in the Tupungato region of Mendoza. French winemaker Michel Rolland is a legend who travels the world making magic and stunning critics. Here, he used 35% Merlot, 35% Malbec, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc.
Seriously elegant. Well integrated and expressive, thanks to bottle age. Yet amazingly fresh and lively thanks to altitude. Has easily exceeded the early 91 point rating. Black raspberry, leather, and roasted red pepper. Charcuterie sensations, dense chocolate, and black fig. A mouthwatering grip on the juicy, herbal finish.
This goes superbly with Spanish cheeses like Oveja Añejo. Add some dried cherries to your cheese board, and those addictive Barbara’s Jalapeno Blue Cheese Puffs.
About the Producer
Andeluna Cellars was founded in 2003 in the high-altitude region of Gualtallary, Tupungato, within Mendoza’s Uco Valley – one of Argentina’s most acclaimed winegrowing areas. The winery was established with a vision to combine the unique terroir of the Andes foothills with world-class expertise. Originally supported by American investor H. Ward Lay, Andeluna is now under Brazilian ownership. The winery is known for producing elegant, expressive wines that reflect the altitude, rocky soils, and cool climate of Gualtallary, with a portfolio that includes standout Malbecs, Cabernet Francs, and white varietals like Chardonnay and Torrontés. Celebrated French winemaker Michel Rolland was deeply involved in Andenula for its first eight years. Today, the winery continues to innovate under the leadership of winemaker Manuel González.
