La Serena Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva Gemini 2013
Sangiovese | Italy
Collectors, connoisseurs, and lovers of opulent, vinous bliss (that covers everyone, right?)...we are overjoyed to be sharing this 95-point rockstar Brunello from one of the holiest sites in Montalcino. La Serena Brunello di Montalcino – always one of Tuscany’s finest! Nearly 30% off and ready to drink!
The La Serena estate has always produced highly acclaimed wines, and this is their top Brunello, 100% sangiovese, 30-year-old vines right next to the winery, parked in the most illustrious grouping of top Brunello producers in all of Tuscany! We’re talking Cerbaiona, Casanova di Neri, and even Biondi Santi’s legendary Il Greppo estate! This is normally the realm of $200+ sangiovese, but we have a few cases of this powerful 2013 vintage at less than $80 a pop. But be warned, there’s not much to go around– this is a grab-it-while-you-can moment here on Invino.
But the wine! There’s so much to talk about here… we’ll start with the striking balance of sheer power and elegant complexity. Rich, brooding, dark, brimming, and percolating with dark cherries, raspberries, and plums, but also spearmint, blood orange, bay leaf, and black tea – with savory/earthy notes of sandalwood, iron ore, and sun-baked clay…WOW! So much to LOVE here! This is a charmer, if there ever was one. An impressive Brunello that will last another decade, easily! Read Galloni’s 95-point review, and grab this while we still have it, you’re going to wish you got more.
About the Producer
