Cardano Black Fruit Cabernet Sauvignon Atlas Peak 2018

Cabernet Sauvignon  |  US

JD96, WA94
SPECIAL: Ground shipping included on orders of 2 bottles or more!

From the family of Napa’s critically-acclaimed Beau Vigne comes this rare new release, priced about $100 less than the top cuvee, and ALL of the lush Cabernet power we crave! A MUST at this price! Did we mention 96 POINTS?!

After scoring 100 points for their Reserve some years back (not to mention dozens of mid-90s scores), owner Edward Snider is passing the torch to his son Nicholas, and they JUST released this new wine from prime estate fruit on Atlas Peak. We’re one of the first to get some -- “Black Fruit” indeed! Huge, dark, plush and deeply complex with refined dark blue and black fruits, red currant, cedar, torrefaction (roasting coffee beans), truffles and toasted spices -- it's...wow! A mouthful of seriously rich, deeply satisfying Cabernet, and it drinks like something WAY more pricey! Invino peeps, don’t miss this one!!

ONLY 19 CASES --- while it lasts!

96 Jeb Dunnuck -
While a small step up in price, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Black Fruit is worth it and is one of the top values found in the vintage. A blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc, it has classy, complex notes of blueberries, blackberries, unsmoked tobacco, leather, and white truffle. It’s one of those wines you could smell all night, and it doesn’t disappoint on the palate either, offering full-bodied richness, a seamless texture, and ultra-fine tannins. Enjoy bottles any time over the coming 15 years or more.
94 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
Composed of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Black Fruit sports a deep garnet-purple color. It is a little broody to begin, delivering notes of cedar chest, black olives, pencil shavings and charcoal over a core of cassis, redcurrant jelly, stewed plums and spice box. Full-bodied, the palate has a firm frame of grainy tannins and great tension supporting the taut, muscular black and red fruit, finishing long and earthy. Give this one a couple more years in bottle and drink it over the next 18 years+. 226 cases were made.
